Elizabeth Jane Cohen was born 18 Dec 1856 at Deloraine to John Cohen and Sarah Ryder. She married Charles MORLEY on 12 Oct 1877 at St John Baptist at Buckland. Their children were:

(1)Sarah Susan Jane born 16 Oct 1878 and died the same day at Buckland.
(2) Arthur James born 16 Dec 1879 at Prosser Plains, married Dora May Bye 13 Sep 1911 and died 20 May 1965.
(3) Harriett Matilda born 13 Apr 1881, married Alfred Augustus Williams 14 Jun 1902 at Queenstown and died 3 Sep 1963 at Zeehan.
(4)Annie Helena born 15 Jul 1882 at Buckland, married Charles Bye 8 Apr 1908.
(5) Louise Jane born 28 Nov 1884 at Buckland, married Leonard Sydney Scott in 1911 and died 19 Nov 1964 at Hobart.
(6) John Henry born 22 Jul 1887 at Buckland.
(7) George Alfred born 29 Apr 1891 on Maria Island, married Mildred Alice Ward and died 30 Dec 1965.
(8) Thomas Leslie born 1893 and died 1910 at Mt Lyell, Queenstown.

I have the same information as Pauline Dillon. She married charles Morley at St.Johns Church Buckland. Charles was a widower with 2 children. Elisabeth died New Norfolk 1924. Buried Red Hills cemetery. She died in hospital at New Norfolk after living with stepson.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Sarah nee rider and John Cohen. Unconfirmed story is that John Cohen deserted the family and returned to Norfolk Island to his previous position as shepherd. Sarah remarried to Peter Murphy. She had several children to John Cohen and then to Murphy. Elizabeth appears to be the only child placed in the orphanage. Sarah, her mother is the daughter of convict Joseph Rider. She came to VDL with her mother and 2 sisters when her father was sent to VDL. Her family remained around the Mole Creek area where her sisters married and her parents died.
