Elizabeth Knibbs was the daughter of James Knibbs, who arrived as a convict on the Guildford in October 1820, and Mary (nee Morris). Mary died in 1843 which would have been what resulted in Elizabeth being sent to the orphanage. Given that her father is listed as being in Victoria at the time of a theft by Elizabeth in 1851 it is likely that she is the same Elizabeth Knibbs (born in the colonies) who travelled to Victoria on the Queen of the Netherlands in September 1853. More research is needed to confirm this.
