This orphan has been claimed by: Irene Dillon

This orphan girl's mother grew up wild in London and was part of a group of girls who planned their crimes. Her convict conduct record is two pages of small writing: assisting escapees, sleeping with men during work hours, frequenting a 'common brothel'. Drunk and disorderly, and obscene language charges are regular, resulting in fines and hard labour. She was eventually recommended for a ticket of leave but another drunk and disorderly just two days later caused a postponement of six months. Then she married George Rigby and vanished to the back of New Norfolk where four children were born. One died, two seem to have vanished and Sarah, the eldest, married and raised a family. I have often wondered how Johanna was tamed and what sort of mother she made. It would appear that she did not settle. Sarah Rigby was my husband's gg grandmother and I have always felt a great interest in her life.
