Doing my family research.
My great/great grandmother was a Margaret Rooke who married at New Norfolk 1853 a Henry Humm from Macquarie Plains a convict..
Not sure if the orphan is her ,age at marriage says 17,very nearly ?? agrees with records.
Margaret/Henry had several children in Tasmania ,One Emily is my great grandmother.family moved to NZ as a military settler c1864/6 . Family changed name to Turner for some reason in 1870s.
Emily married a Francis Farquhar MacRae/ McRae/McRa who was also born Tas( Bothwell) 1840 son of John McRa ,MacRae is my mothers maiden name.
Any help/advice if possible thanks.
