Charles father, like his stepfather had two surnames.  Charles reverted to Daley on the mainland.

Charles Daley born 1859, married Catherine (Kate) Mallett, Kate was born in Goulburn st Hobart, in 1883.[1]

DALEY—SULLIVAN.— On the 15th January, at the residence of his son-in-law, M. J. Burke, 19 Kerferd-place, Albert Park, Charles, relict of the late Catherine Daley, and loving father of Florence (Mrs. Liddell), Ida (Mrs. Bourke). Annie (Mrs. Williams), Henry, Eileen (Mrs. Smith) and Charles, aged 72 years. R.I.P.
