Claiming an Orphan

 If your search is successful, we offer the facility for you to register your interest in a particular orphan by following the "Claim this Orphan" link at the bottom of the page on which you find the orphan's details.

Who can claim?

You can claim an orphan whether you are a descendant of the orphan and/ or a researcher interested in a particular orphan or group of orphans. You are welcome to claim more than one orphan.   Likewise, there is no limit on the number of times an orphan can be claimed.  If your orphan has already been claimed you should still claim them and add your story.

 So far over 1500 orphan claims have been lodged. Read their stories.  You can also upload a photo of the orphan or their family to be displayed along with the orphans record and story.

The Friends of the Orphan Schools reserve the right to edit or decline any details submitted when claiming an orphan but do not take responsibility for that content and it does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Friends.
