William Charles Tucker is my great grandfather.  He was about one year six months when he arrived in Hobart Town in 1852 aboard the Anna Maria along with his mother, Ann Tucker and his grandmother, Mary Dimmock, both of whom were convicts transported to VDL for seven years for stealing.  Even though it is thought that Ann still had a husband and three other children in the UK, in 1853 she married William Sonners and they appeared to settle in the Hamilton area and raised a family of four sons, together with William.
