Peter died 10 years later and Amelia was left to manage a young family. She applied to the Queens Orphan School to take the children, they were not admitted, but she was given an allowance of 7/6 weekly –SWD26/8, 27 Two daughters, Elizabeth Amelia & Isabella Emslie later married 2 brothers, George Henry Priest & John Thomas Priest.
