Caleb grew up to marry Sarah Swann and eventually move to Sydney. He is my husband's third great-grandfather.

Caleb Harry Elley was the son of my Gt Gt Grandfather and Grandmother John and Louisa Elley (born Wells).  He was one of five children admitted to the Orphanage - John Elley had deserted Louisa (his wife) in the mid 1850's.  The children's mother Louisa (born Wells) died of consumption on 9th March 1863 aged 41yrs. Caleb married Sarah Ann Swann on 25th October 1880 and they had 9 children. Caleb died on 19th September 1924 aged 65yrs in the Mental Hospital, Balmain South, NSW, Australia.
