This young child's mother was ANN MARY LEWIS, convict, who arrived VDL 3 December 1836 aboard the Ship Westmoreland. She arrived with 'a child', stated she was married to a Thomas Lewis, a seaman, and born in Dublin Ireland. It is assumed that the child MARY LEWIS was also born in Dublin but this has not been researched yet. Ann Mary Lewis' convict record does not show how old the child was at the time of arrival.
The child, Mary Ann Lewis, went on to marry William Brain in 1852 at St George's Church, Battery Point, Hobart. She was my husband's great great grandmother.
