My husband, Scott Freeman, is a direct descendant of Anne Ward (his Great Great Great Grandmother), who was Patrick McCabe's mother.  Patrick arrived onboard "Blackfriar" in July 1851 with his mother, a convict, and was just over a year old.  Patrick is listed in the Surgeon's Report for the ship having been unwell for 8 days on the journey to Tasmania.  Anne Ward married Timothy Hopewell in 1855 and they went on to have five children.  Their daughter Ellen Hopewell is my husband's great great grandmother, then to her eldest daughter Minnie May Rilat (Scott's great grandmother), Minnie's son Neil Thomas Freeman (Scott's grandfather) and Neil's son Lionel Charles Freeman (Scott's father).
