Betsey Mckenzie (Elizabeth) whose mother was Flora Mckenzie who married a man called Hollyoak in Hobart, Flora died in Hobart. Betsey married Mark Hope in 1857 in Deloraine, Tasmania. She had 11 children ranging 1858 - 1880. Mark Hope was a Convict also leaving a wife and children in England.
One of their children was William Hope 1863. He married Frances Stops in Hobart. One of their children was Vera Hope born in Hobart. Vera moved to Sydney in 1917 with 2 children, she died in 1925 in childbirth. Vera had 5 children and is the Mother of my Uncle Edward born 1913 in Launceston Tasmania who is still living in Queensland aged 101. Edward has 1 daughter.
From a humble beginning in England, travelled on the convict ship Woodbridge with her Mother Flora Mckenzie to Tasmania and placed as an Orphan in 1844 at age 4 in Hobart. Released to her Mother in 1849, that must have been a wonderful event. Betsey's life certainly took lots of turns but all ended well and she still has many fine ancestors in 2015 to be proud of.
