Mary Ann McKinley was the daughter of two convicts, a married couple from Fermanagh who arrived on separate ships. She is my gg grandmother. She married John Reading and they raised a family in Green Ponds. Tracing this family would have been impossible for me but for a family bible which has been passed down our female line since Mary Ann's day. Her death is recorded in this bible, as are her parents'. I am interested in learning all I can about her life. She was an old lady when my grandmother was a child and not very mobile, but she used to keep an eye on the children while the parents were busy. My grandmother has now passed on and I wish I'd asked more when I could. I had no idea Mary Ann had been in the orphan school.
