Emily Mears was my Great, great grandmother.

She married Henry William Turner, Forest, Tasmania 16 Sep 1867

She died 19 Dec 1893. Emily's headstone is one of only two, left standing at the Blackwall Cemetery. I have been informed it is now in the care of the Historical Society. I assume that is the Stanley or Smithton Society I have a photo of the headstone. Emily had a child before she married Henry Turner. The child was named Emily Jane the father was John Steer, a solicitor. Baby Emily Jane was born 8 Sept 1866, she died 12 Oct1866.

Henry & Emily had 9 children. She died of cancer when the youngest child Lottie was not quite 3 years old.

Emily was my Great, great grandmother.

Her father, Henry was a Boatman on the Derwent River.

I have been to the site of her burial and at that time her headstone was the last remaining.
