Patrick was the son of my Great Grandmother Ellen Nolan, who was a convict transported in 1853 on  the Midlothian.  Patrick was born on board.  Records say Ellen was a widow at the time of her conviction.  She was a housemaid and married my great grandfather James Smith at Clarence Plains in 1854.  They went  on to have 8 children one of whom my grandfather moved to Moogara where he lived for the rest of his life.   I have not yet found any record of either Ellen or James lives or deaths.
