John Smith was born in England in 1844 and came with his mother Hannah Smith (nee Churchill) and seven other siblings on the Great Tasmania ship as bounty immigrants and arrived at Hobart Town Australia on 27 January 1857. In 1857 he was to be admitted to the orphanage with his sisters Mary Ann, Rosannah and brother Frederick. Before he was admitted he was put into service.
Research has Frederick's parents as Hannah Churchill and Joseph Smith. I have no further information on John and I am still researching him.
John Smith is my great grandmother Rosannah Smith's older brother. He was born 25 March 1844 in Dudley, Worcester, England and died in Hodart,
and was buried 6 May 1913 in Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
