William was also known as "Willie" when he was admitted in 1859 with 3 siblings...all children of Thomas Sullivan (Ship: Gilbert Henderson) and Ann Carton (Ship: Earl Grey). They were married in Bothwell in 1850. Ann (Annie) had many spellings for her surname as she couldn't write and had a strong Irish accent (from Wexford, Ireland). Alternate spellings: Cartin/Carten/Carden/Karten/Carter/ Caston/ Cotter) .. The children admitted together were: Sarah, Willie, Alice and Selina..Information on these people is available on my Ancestry Public tree.
