James was discharged to his father Edward on February 29, 1860, along with his brother Charles. Sadly James died on May 1, 1861 in Kingston. Edward also died on November 2, 1861. His occupation was a constable and the inquest found his death was caused by excessive drinking.
James' mother reclaimed Charles and he was baptised in 1864 at the same time as his half-brother David, who was born in 1863. His stepfather William Edward Turfrey was also an ex-convict. He and Sarah had a daughter Lucy Eliza in 1865 and they married in 1876.
Mary and William are my 4x great-grandparents.
