This orphan has been claimed by: Kath Wilson

Ellen Wilson arrived in Hobart from Edinburgh, Scotland with her four sisters; Mary Ann, Margaret, Jane and Charlotte, her brother John, and her sister-in-law, Catherine from the ship Boadicea.

The parents noted on her record are in fact her brother and sister-in-law.  John and Catherine Wilson left Hobart and settled in the Port Phillip District in 1836.

Unfortunately, as was pointed out to me by Kerry Graves, who is researching the passengers of the Boadicea, this record for Ellen is incorrect.  Ellen Wilson from the Boadicea was not discharged on 8 December 1845 and her mother did not marry Samuel Warrington - that is the Ellen whose mother was a convict on the Hydery and is Orphan 5752.  There has been a mistake.

I ask that Ellen Wilson from the Boadicea story be properly remembered. Her story will form part of the family history I am writing.

Ellen was actually discharged into the care of her sister Mary Ann and her husband James George.  Ellen emigrated with James George, Mary Ann and sister Charlotte to New Zealand in 1840.

I have full details of Ellen's family tree in New Zealand. She married and had a large family.

My family's ancestors are John and Catherine Wilson. Ellen is a 3rd great-grandaunt.
